Markkleeberger See
Seepromendae

Lake Markkleeberg

Lake Markkleeberg was opened on 15 July 2006. It was the newest destination for water, trend and leisure sports. Three beach areas, tent and camping sites, the holiday village Seepark Auenhain and the lake promenade with shops and restaurants were created.

In autumn 2006 the canoe park Markkleeberg was opened on the bank of the Markkleeberg lake in Auenhain. Right from the start Germany's canoe elite is already training here. Since April 2007 risky canoers have been train daring and artistic manoeuvres. Exciting national and international competitions, but also spectacular fun sport events inspire the audience.

In addition to Lake Markkleeberg, seven other lakes in the 70 km² lake landscape offer a wide range of opportunities for water sports, leisure and recreation. Away from the hustle and bustle of Leipzig, the Leipzig New Lakeland is a great place to unwind.

Lake Cospuden

Lake Cospuden has all the advantages of a modern water sports centre: sailing offers, surfing and diving, boat rental, passenger shipping, sauna in the lake, restaurants, shops, holiday apartments and cabins.

Seeterasse Cospudener See

Lake Kulkwitz

Lake Kulkwitz is located on Leipzig's western city border. The recreation area is a paradise for water fans. Guests will find a camping site, several holiday homes, two diving schools, a water ski and wakeboard centre, a boat rental, the high rope climbing garden, a mini golf course, children's playgrounds, various beaches (also nudist beaches) as well as restaurants and kiosks.

Schladitzer See

Lake Schladitz

Lake Schladitz, located in the north between Leipzig and Delitzsch, offers with the Schladitz Bay and its wonderful sandy beach, the deep blue water and the Mediterranean flair an oasis for bathing, swimming, lounging and relaxing.

In the water sports school ALL-on-SEA you can learn all aspects of sailing or surfing. The beach volleyball courts are also very popular. They invite you for exciting matches throughout the season.

Störmthaler See

Lake Störmthal

The focus at Lake Störmthal is the history of the New Lakeland. With the eye-catching attracions like the Mining and Technology Park and the simming "VINETA" objet d'art the lake attracts many visitors.

For several years now the "Highfield Festival" has been taking place on the Magdeborn peninsula.

Cospudener See

Lake Zwenkau

In May 2015 was the opening of the lake Zwenkau. It is the largest lake in Leipzig New Lakeland. Leisure pleasures for the whole family inside and outside of the cool water keep boredom at bay.

Young and old visitors climb the Town Hall Tower of Pegau together with its builder Hieronymus Lotter. Ort hey visit the exhibition pavilion of mining history at KAP Zwenkau or marvel at the graceful animals of the Bisonranch Neukieritzsch.

Markkleeberger See

The region of Leipzig New Lakeland

Each visitor will discover anything: Whether cycling in the Elsteraue, paddling from the city of Leipzig to Leipzig New Lakeland, hiking along the nature trail Oberholz Großpösna or relaxing in the fitness and wellness centre in Groitzsch.

Quad driving through the former opencast mines accompanied by a quad specialist and a tour guide is also a special experience.
